Kore Press, a nonprofit publisher of literature by women, seeks a part-time Assistant.
Mission: As a community of literary activists devoted to bringing forth a diversity of voices through works that meet the highest artistic standards, Kore Press publishes women’s writing that deepens awareness and advances progressive social change.
In this Work Study position, you will be responsible for assisting the co-directors in all daily operations. This can include remitting bill payments, processing mail, filling book orders, tracking sales and generating reports, answering phones and email, assisting with editorial correspondence, updating website and on-line publicity kits, sending press releases, database management, research, maintaining good files, assisting with projects and special events.
This position provides support to the Artistic and Executive Directors. Good public relations capabilities are a must. Excellent organization and communication (written and oral) skills are required, as is an ability to handle several projects at once under deadline. Applicant must be enthusiastic about the organization’s mission and be able to take direction well and be self-motivated. This position requires that you work well with others (interns, staff, and Board of Directors) and have a good sense of humor.
Mature undergraduate or graduate student preferred. Part-time position starting Fall 2007.
